The Big Trip...
Spain and Portugal ,here I come..Well I have done it, booked my trip.scary.! I am off for a 9 day tour of Spain and Portugal ..a quick visit to my cousin and his wife in Essex,UK and 5 days in Dubai with my dearest friend.. I have realised I will be there for St Patricks Day ( and as she has Irish background) she celebrates this in grand style.. Oh my goodness, I see a headache coming on.... The trip isn't my dream trip and doesn't go to all the places I had hoped to visit but I am sure it will satisfy my need to experience new and old cultures and 'I CAN'T WAIT".............. Of course I can't afford this trip but.............As we say."sometimes in life ,it just doesn't matter" .. I try to follow my dreams if I can.,the older I get the more I want out of life, maybe one becomes aware that our days are counting down.? I see myself coming home with 900+ photos of cobblestone streets and beautiful landscaping and (as always) lots of doors, windows and amazing old buildings. Ole"

Two days of glorious sunshine, summer is here and there is no other place better to live... This is the perfect time of the year.. My jasmine is in full flower outside my kitchen window and the evening's gentle breeze wafts the perfume all through the house....Thanks to my daughter for helping me start my 1st blog.... I am a novice.as yet, but will get the hang of it... I hope to be more creative as time goes by, and introduce some of my favourite holiday snaps and tales of my next dinner party............. Spanish it is !!!! I have 3 of "the best" cookbooks ,Italian. Moroccan and Spainish. A Journey for Food Lovers by Murdoch Books and these will be the source of my recipes for Tuesday the 23rd November when we dance the flamenco...hehehe.

Today would be my Dads birthday, he passed away when I was 26, it seems a lifetime ago. Not a day goes by that I don;t miss him and when things go wrong and I need guidance, I so... wish he were here to "make it all better" .. No matter how old we get, we are always a child as long as we have a parent alive. So to everyone who still have their parents in their life, remember to always let them know how much they are loved and needed. As we get older that is such an important thing .... As a parent myself. it is interesting to watch my child mature and make mistakes and still I learn every day something new about her. As it is for all of us Mums.... to my Dad -I send a kiss, and will hold the memory of him in my heart!
